I started coaching wrestling in Barrie in 2003. A year later with Al Emond, and Brad Chestnut we helped create the Kempenfelt Bay wrestling club. I do most of my coaching here and with the Bear Creek High School team. In addition to this I have also work with Canadian National Wrestling Team on several teams.

Since 2003:
- We have placed 9 members on Team Canada
- We have had 20 Athletes go on to compete at the University level or higher.
- Had 32 Medals at the National Championship (Including 11 Golds)
- 17 OFSAA Medals (including 4 Golds)
- 56 Provincial Medals (Including 26 Golds)
- Three Times I have won the GBSSA Team Championships
- 2017 National Team Coach Jr. Pan Am (1st Place Womens Team, 3rd Place Mens)
- 2013 Coach of Team Canada in Medellin, Columbia where the Team placed 4th in the Mens and Womens divisions of the Pan American Championships.
- 2010 I was named Coach of Team Ontario and coached with them at the Sparta Cup in Puerto Rico (where we placed 1st) and at the Stu Hart National Dual Meet Tournament (where we placed 3rd to Japan and B.C.).
- 2010 we hosted Japans National team for a week.
- We have had Barrie Athletes Represent their country in: China, Austria, Switzerland, Scotland, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Hungry, Finland, Mongolia, Cuba Pennsylvania, Ohio, Colorado, and Arizona.
- We have sent 6 athletes on to the National training center at Brock University

-In the summer of 2012 I took 20 Athletes to London to participate in a tour of Britain, and compete in a tournament against Great Britain, United States and Austria; where we placed 1st. The team then went down and watched the London Olympics. And witnessed Canada finished in 2nd place in the Women’s Freestyle Wrestling event.

-In March of 2012 our high school team competed at the Junior Nationals in Fredricton N.B.  We were the only high school club in attendance and competed against the best University teams in the Country.  All of these teams have at least one full time paid -coach (usually 3), as well as significant operating budgets. Our team placed 6th. Beating three of the National training centers and most of the University teams. A huge accomplishment for a high school level team.

I was introduced to the sport of wrestling by my grade 9 football coach. I took to the sport of wrestling like a fish to water. After a successful high school wrestling career, winning several championships, my wrestling ended when I graduated high school.  Years later, I was looking for a sport that my children could join, and I found wrestling again. The sport teaches so much about yourself, fosters teamwork and life skills that will proved valuable over and over again.  I have coached my children for the last 7 years from my club, New Tec.  I came to the realization that my children’s skills were advancing beyond my ability to keep up, so I enrolled them at K-Bay Athletic and Wrestling Club where they worked under Head Coach, Nick Cryer and his staff.  This move to K-Bay provided my son with a wealth of coaching experience which enabled my son to work his way to the podium at the Canadian Nationals Wrestling Championships where he was awarded a Bronze Medal.
